Bangladesh tour of New Zealand has been called off after the attack on two Christchurch mosques. New Zealand police has said that there are multiple causalities in the tragic incident. The Bangladesh team was on the way to the mosque for the Friday prayers at the time of attack near the Hagley Oval wheer the third test match of the series was to be played.

Update: Death Toll has reached 49 and many severely injured. Australian men in his late 20s has been arrested in by the New Zealand Police. Four people – three men and one woman – are in custody in relation to the attacks.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern described this incident as “one of New Zealand’s darkest days”.

Currently, all the Bangladesh cricket team players and ground staff are lockdowns in the hotel under heavy security.

NZC has also decided to cancel the two remaining fixtures between the New Zealand Development team and Australia’s Under-19 women’s team that were to be played over the weekend at Lincoln’s Bert Sutcliffe Oval.
